Some days i'll be a true Waka Ama racer

Kia ora bloggers today im going talk about the Waka racers. But it is a little bit different. I have to talk about me if why or not if I want to be a Waka Ama racer. When I was little I haven't heard about a Waka racer. I would like to be a Waka Ama racer because it has a lot of strength in it. My true dream was to be  a animal aid but I wanted to be a Waka Ama racer.

When I watched a video of the Waka Ama race it looked really really hard. But some people say they do it from there heart and for there team.

Thank you bloggers for reading what I want to be and i'll comment you later, BYE!!

  1. Kia Ora Daniel,

Merry Christmas! My name is Rachel and I am working with Cia, Clare and Megan on the Summer Learning Journey programme this year in the Ako Hiko cluster. I am so excited to see that you have joined us.

I really enjoyed reading your post about Waka Ama. When I was a young girl growing up in Canada I learned how to paddle a canoe but I have never been in a big waka before. I think that you would need incredibly strength and heart to be a champion waka ama racer. I really hope that you get the chance to give it 'a go' one day soon!

I also hope that you get the chance to become an animal aid. I have never heard of this particular job before and I'd love to know more. What does an animal aid do? Do you take care of the animals or train them?

I hope that you will have time to hop back online one day soon to tell us more about what an animal aid job would entail. We'd love to know!

In the meantime, have a very happy and restful holiday season.

    Best,
    Rachel :)

  3. Kia ora Daniel,

What an awesome, descriptive post you have created about waka ama racing. I really like how when you listened to the video you heard the reasons why other people enjoy waka ama racing. I think it was great that you shared this with your fellow bloggers as it would give us more of an idea as to why it is so enjoyable. It has been exiting to see that this activity has inspired you to become a waka ama racer in the future.

Waka ama looks very similar to canoeing. Have you ever tried canoeing before? If you havent, this may be an awesome activity to try over the summer and by the time you jump in a waka you will know what to do.

I would love to read more of your posts. Keep blogging with us over the Summer Learning Journey.

    Have an awesome day,
    Megan
