In the Beginning (1800-1870) - Activity Two

Story Teller

Hola blogger world and today i'm going to talk about MORE facts about the beginning. Did you know the first settles sailed a boat to a far country that is called New Zealand. The name of the boat was called a Waka.

First Person Teller
When I was in the boat I felt that there was butterflies flying around my stomach. When we arrived to this Beautiful island that was called New Zealand, it was like heaven.  When I step of the Waka and I took my first step on the sand it was like a soft cloud.

Thank you blogger world for reading and I will blog you later BYE!!

  1. Kia orana Daniel,
my name is Cia. I am a Summer Learning Journey blogger who will be working with you over the summer break.

I like how descriptive you were about what it felt like when you reached the new land. Had you thought a friend you could write the letter to? Remember that the activity is asking you to write a short letter to a friend about your journey and how you feel about going to a new country.

If I were writing a letter to a dear friend I would definitely talk to them about the journey I was experiencing on the rough seas and how scared and nervous I felt about going to a new country I know nothing about. Perhaps you could edit your letter to make a few changes to include some of these things, as I would love to give you full points for this activity.

A great start to the Summer Learning Journey Daniel, I can’t wait to read more of your posts this summer!

  2. Kia ora Daniel,

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your letter to your friend. Did you have a particular friend in mind that you were writing to? Your simile describing the feeling you felt when standing on the white fluffy sand reminded me of my summer holidays at Waihi Beach. This was a very accurate and well written comparison that paints a picture of what you were feeling.

I find the feelings of butterflies in my stomach very unusual but oddly satisfying. When travelling on the waka what caused your butterflies?

I am excited to read more of your awesome posts. Keep up the great work Daniel.

    Blog you later,
    Megan

  3. Kia Ora Daniel,

Cadence here from the Summer Learning Journey team. Thanks for sharing a very creative piece of writing. Very clever and very descriptive. Maybe you could include a short paragraph telling your readers how it feels to travel so far and leave your home behind? Do you think it would be scary moving to a new place?

    Keep up the great work!

    Cadence :)
